What is the Item Unique Identification (IUID) Registry

The IUID Registry is the DoD's central repository for all IUID data and serves to identify:

• What the item is
• How and when it was acquired
• The initial value of the item
• Current custody (government or contractor)
• How it is marked

Who is responsible for Registering IUID's for New Procurement?
In accordance with DFARS 252.211-7003, the prime contractor has the responsibility to submit Unique Item Identifiers (UIIs) and to provide the IUID data for items that are delivered under a DoD contract.

Who is responsible for Registering IUID's for GFE?
In accordance with DFARS 252.211-7007, the prime custodial contractor has the responsibility to submit UIIs and to provide the IUID data for all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) that meets IUID policy criteria.

How many items are in the IUID Registry?
More than 8.9 million items have been registered; 40% of those items were delivered in 2009 and the pace of registration is accelerating. Official DoD estimates put the entire qualifying inventory at about 90 million items.

How Expediter™ works for UID Labels

1. Setup an account with IUID Registry
   Register as an 'IUID Contractor'. Allow 2-3 days for DoD to process. The account allows corrections to be made & reports to be generated. NOTE: You must have an active CCR account to upload to the IUID Registry. Register at https://www.bpn.gov/ccr/default.aspx. Allow 3 - 5 days to process.

Compliance Label Service will email you when your data has been received by the IUID Registry. If there are any errors, the IUID Registry will notify you by email. Forward this email to labels@pbrfid.com; we will find the error & upload the file again for FREE.
